Packing Tips by Man and Van Fleet

1. Boxes are the best to pack your belongings, you should be careful not to over fill your boxes. Generally boxes should not  weight more than 20 pounds per box. Man and Van Fleet recommend not to over fill boxes, because an overloaded box can fall apart and they are awkward to move.
2. Mark boxes with felt tip pen with a brief description of what’s inside them, and which room they belong in. Use strong sturdy boxes if possible, especially if you are moving fragile items, use small boxes for heavy stuff
3. fixings, screws, and bolts should be places in plastic wallet or food freezer pouches and mark them, you can buy these bags cheaply at ….
4. Try not to use Black bin bags, the do a terrible job and nearly always split or tear…..
5. De-Clutter, clear out your old junk or stuff you no longer use….. take them to the local charity shop in ..
6. on line or at the local fleet car boots sales.
7. Plan weeks ahead, once you have booked your Fleet Man and Van, start the de-cluttering process. Go to each room and decide which items you are no longer need, and get shot of them. Car boots, e-bay or charity shops are god place for unwanted belongings, and you might even make a bit of cash from it.
8. Parking at your new home, you don’t want to find there is no parking for your Man and Van, especially if your paying by the hour. ideally you need to park as close as possible to your new home, this will make off loading quicker.
9. load off the larger items off first, and load the boxes into the rooms they belong in.
10. Introduce your self’s to your new next door naumbers.
11. Load larger and heaviest items at the opposite end of the cabin, this will distribute the weight and make driving easier. Washing machine and fridge or freezer should be placed at the rear of the van. Use a sack barrow or dolly for heavy furniture, this will make work light, you don’t want to put your back out of place. Be sure you’ve got friends and family to help load the van! Once the van is loaded, place lighter softer items  in between the heavy items, like cushions, covers or devious, this will minimise any damage and help them to stop moving when transporting them. Another good idea, is to cover them with moving blankets, avoid any damage and scratching.
12. Its best empty your belonging in room order, from the bedrooms down. Your man and van team should know how this should be done. But, you may want to organise the order you want to off load your belongings. It’s always good to have your boxes marked, especially if they are fragile items.
